I just purchased an HP Windows 10 laptop. I cannot disable the auto password login. I searched the internet and I know what needs to be done. The problem is that I do not have an option to uncheck “User Name and Passwords under “User Account” I called a tech support specialist at HP and he agreed that I have no option to disable auto login.

He did not have a work around to fix this problem. I checked with 2 other people who I know have windows 10 and they have an option to uncheck “User Name and Passwords under “User Account” Any information would be appreciated. This thread is locked.

Have you set the userid and password correctly? Either something is wrong with your implementation of autologon or I’m not understanding something. I logged into a machine as local admin and configured autologon with non-admin user credentials. I then rebooted the machine. After reboot, the machine was logged in as the non-admin user and all desktop explorer.

Newly launched processes also ran under the non-admin account, also as reported by Process Explorer. To run something as admin, I had to enter admin credentials.
